Celebrating Dr. Seuss at Fremont

30 children filled the room with laughter and excitement as they were ready to get the celebration started. First, the children made a snack that looked like Green Eggs and Ham after the book by Dr. Seuss.  We discussed his birthday and that he would have been 111 years old today!  We talked about the way he wrote his books, and how much we enjoyed them.  Then the children were given mirrors and forms to make a self-portrait while I recited the Youer than You poem that Dr. Seuss wrote.  The children really put a lot of effort into their portraits and had fun visiting while working too. Look at their cute selves!

Pony Bead Bracelets at Fremont

A room filled with thirty excited, chattering 4-8 year old children is music to my ears!  They were very excited to make two bracelets today.  They didn't need help and were very proud of  their creations.  They love to have their picture taken to show off their talents too.  We had a great time today!

Family Tissue Paper Hearts

It's a simple craft but always loved by everyone.  Today, moms and children, grand kids and grandmothers all enjoyed making these hearts.  Lots of conversation as they worked, with beautiful results.

Family Valentine Cards

Men, women and children enjoyed this card making session today!  It was fun for me to see all the creativity everyone put into their cards for someone special.  So many also enjoyed using the stamps I brought to finish up their cards with expressions of love.  Take a look!

Mexican Tin Art at Centerville

Everyone had a blast tonight making a Mexican art piece on tin.  I enjoyed watching them decide what they wanted their piece to look like, and learning all the new techniques I taught.  Look at the results!
