Pop Up Cards for Adults

This is the first time I've offered this class, and it's going to be a great one!  The full room, and happy faces waiting to learn how to create these cards was awesome!  Some instruction, then to work they went.  I love how they all learn the same thing yet all their works are different from one another.  Lots of chatting and I see new friendships forming in these adult and teen classes.  The best part?  These classes are creating a sense of community at the libraries!

Canvas Resist with the Tweens

The tweens had fun creating an inspiring piece for back to school.  I think the boys enjoyed this class more than the girls did!  I love the words they chose, and the hard work they put into the project.  I don't get pictures of the finished results on this one, as the ending is a surprise to them after the paint dries.  We had some special needs students in this class as well, and they all did a great job.

Shrinky Dink Earrings for Adults

Wow!  This has to be the most popular program other than painting that I've done recently.  So much excitement, lots of chatting, and creating the most beautiful earrings!  Take a look.

Dry Erase Frames with Seniors

We have a new program at Fremont just for the seniors, and they love it!  Different programs each month, and the seniors are truly enjoying the time crafting, making some new friends, and just relaxing.  Here we did Dry Erase Frames, and they sure enjoyed making them!

Sand Art with Kids at Centerville

This is my most popular program, with all age groups!  The kids love this craft.  We did a double program to allow more children to attend.  The kids didn't want this program to end.  Look at their creativity!

Race Cars at Centerville

Had a huge group for this very popular program!  The kids love designing their car, and then we race them.  Flags and tattoos round off the fun.  You can see the kids, and their parents had a great time.

Card Embossing at Niles

The dry emboss technique was greatly received at Niles.  The patrons LOVED how easy it was and that they could create beautiful cards!  Here are the results.

Sand Art for Adults

We had a fun night of conversation, laughter, and sharing stories as they worked on their sand art pieces tonight.  The boards ended up not having any glue on them, so they were hard to work with.  Everyone was very gracious and saw it as an art challenge and dove in.  I love working with these people, and how much they enjoy the time away from their lives, just enjoying some down time.  Look at their pieces; I think they did a great job!

Tissue Canvases with Families

I was supposed to be working with five to eight year olds, but the library was pretty much empty when I arrived so I opened the program to all ages, and ended up with some amazing families who came and enjoyed making art together!  One dad said he was having a blast crafting with his wife and son, and all the others were very happy to have the time together.  I had three generation families, a single adult, and many other families working to create their masterpieces.  All were very happy with their results, and said they truly enjoyed the day!
